Unemployment Doesn’t Have to be Unemployment

Published by priscillasmith at 8:34 pm under Reviews Edit This

Unemployment is beginning to be really popular these days, especially in Gulfport, MS. This is my home town where I grew up, and I’ve noticed that it is very hard to get a job these days. I personally know people whom are looking for employment right now, but every business has an excuse. They’d put in applications for different places, and what the employer would say is that they will call you. In my 6yrs of experience in the workforce, I have found that most employers who tell prospective employees that they will call them after the application process don’t call them.

What most people really don’t realize is that unemployment doesn’t have to be unemployment. There are jobs available, but people simply choose not to work those jobs because it’s not something they want to do. Sometimes you have to set aside what you want when it comes to surviving. It’s called sacrifice, and that is something I’m no stranger to.

Being unemployed because you simply don’t want to do that kind of job is not the way to go. I wouldn’t suggest doing something you know you can’t physically do, but something reasonable to get bills paid and you know you can do. We know we need money to survive, so why not get something for the moment until something better is found. I don’t want to say until something better comes along because nothing in life is just handed to us. There is a price for everything almost unless you know someone very close in the field you’re looking to go into. A lot of the time this is also how people are hired over others. A job is better than No job right? Right.Smile

As the old saying goes, “money doesn’t grow on trees”Laughing… I personally can’t see myself as being unemployed. I have too many responsibilities. There are people who recently quit where I work because they simply couldn’t get what they want or they just had a disagreement of some kind. If they can afford to quit, let them quit. You won’t see me do it.Money mouth

Unemployment doesn’t have to unemployment if people can learn to be more resourceful, and look beyond face value. People fall into those traps everyday, and continue to do the same thing. There are jobs that most people don’t even think or know about. For instance, freelancing could be a good job source. I wouldn’t exactly call it a regular job, but it can be with time and effort. That kind of opportunity has potential for advancement and growth. It’s all in what the individual makes it to be. A lot of people don’t know about it, and it’s hard to get someone to listen because they think this kind of work is a scam. They are wrong.

There are people who like to get jobs and quit after the first paycheck. There is a reason for this, and I thought that people just quit because they get tired of the job. Most people do, but majority of them have other intentions. Such as, working for a certain amount of time just to say they’d worked for the year. I know someone who does this, and she told me all about it and why she does it. To which, I think is not very smart.

If you think about it, this person actually does more work switching up jobs than just staying with that one job. This person has to go here and there to look for a job, and when she finds one she has to go through the application process. Please understand that an interview does not guarantee a job, and a lot of people believe this. I found this not to be true in my 6 years of working. It would be best to get a job that you know you will be with for a while rather than switching up every paycheck or every other month.

InnocentUnemployment is for someone with no obligations or an elderly person. An example of someone would be a homebody or someone who takes care of the home. They have obligations, but those obligations usually don’t require paying for anything. I’d say that anyone the age of 18 or older should work to make a living. I would let the teens get away with it because there are some that are in school, and there are some in school and working to pay their tuition. For some, unemployment is not an option. Unemployment does not have to be unemployment.Money mouth
